
Dr. Dharamdat Sumare

Dr. Sumare brings over a decade of diverse clinical experience to GWEST Urgent Care. His medical career began as an intern at Savannah-La-Mar Public General Hospital and expanded quickly through work at multiple community health centers including Darlinston, Grange Hill, and White House. He later spent three years in the fast-paced Accident & Emergency Department at Cornwall Regional Hospital before joining the University Hospital of the West Indies’ Emergency Department.
Motivated by a passion for accessible healthcare, Dr. Sumare transitioned into public health, serving as a Senior Medical Officer with St. James Public Health Services. There, he provided care across nearly every district in the parish, building lasting relationships with patients and communities alike.
He has also held leadership positions, including Manager at Baywest Wellness Hospital and Clinic. In 2022, he expanded his expertise through a role with Omega Health Services in Ocho Rios, caring for both locals and international visitors at several major hotels.
Today, Dr. Sumare proudly serves at GWEST Urgent Care, where he continues to deliver compassionate, high-quality care. With over 120,000 patients treated, he is deeply experienced in managing a wide range of medical conditions, from common illnesses to rare and complex diseases.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Sumare is a proud husband and father. He believes health is our most valuable asset and is committed to helping his patients protect it.
