Dr. CéLois J. Lawrence is a passionate Ear Nose and Throat (ENT)- Head and Neck Surgeon committed to excellent patient-centred care. With over a decade of dedicated experience in the field of Otolaryngology, Dr. Lawrence offers a unique blend of expertise and compassionate care to the people of western Jamaica. As a young, dynamic surgeon, she is devoted to providing the highest standard of ear, nose, and throat treatment, utilizing the latest techniques to ensure the best possible outcomes for her patients while delivering this in a warm and approachable doctor-patient therapeutic alliance.
Dr. Lawrence holds a Bachelor Science (BSc) degree in Biological Sciences from the Northern Caribbean University as well as the Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of the West Indies Mona, both with honours. After serving at the Cornwall Regional Hospital, she returned to the University of the West Indies Mona to pursue postgraduate residency training to earn the Doctor of Medicine in Otorhinolaryngology (DM ORL) degree. During this chapter of her career, she gained valuable experience while working at the Kingston Public Hospital, University Hospital of the West Indies, Bustamante Hospital for Children, as well as the Sunderland Royal Hospital in the United Kingdom. Currently, Dr. Lawrence acts a Consultant ENT Surgeon at the Cornwall Regional Hospital. In addition, she holds membership with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the American Academy of Otolaryngologists- Head and Neck Surgeons.
In a rapidly evolving field, Dr. Lawrence consistently attends international courses and conferences, ensuring her skills and techniques remain at the forefront of medical innovation. These include surgical training courses at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (Scotland, UK) and the Emory University (Atlanta, USA). She has also presented award-winning research at the Caribbean Association of Otolaryngologists and Jamaica Association of Otolaryngologists- Head and Neck Surgeons conferences.
